2025 Canadian Election Study

The 2025 Canadian Election Study (CES) consisted of two rounds of survey, a campaign period survey (CPS) and a post-election survey (PES). The CPS has a final sample of 20,180. Sampling for the CPS occurred from March 24 to April 28, 2025. The Post-Election Survey occurred from April 29 to May 13, 2025, resulting in a sample of 14,075.

The core questions of the survey were drawn from previous CES (to preserve continuity) on key issues such as vote intentions, issue positions, partisanship, and political engagement. Because of the large sample size and the ability of an online platform to easily implement complex designs, we were able to imbed many community projects into the survey.

The 2025 Canadian Election Study was led by Laura Stephenson, Allison Harell and Daniel Rubenson . This version of the CES continues the rich legacy of five decades of research while also introducing innovation in scale, methods and design.
